Text: Luke 19:28-44 Topic: Hypocrisy, Self-righteousness Big Idea of the Message: Rather than seeing Jesus’ Triumphal Entry for what it was—a fulfillment of prophecy—many, including the religious leaders, were so concerned with keeping their own power and authority, that they missed the Messiah. Applicational Point: It’s possible to be close to religion, and yet still miss God.

The church calendar invites us into a different sort of spirituality, one in which we sync our lives up with the rhythm of Jesus’s life. This is most true of Holy Week. From Palm Sunday on, we walk with Jesus into Jerusalem, to Golgotha, and finally to see his empty tomb.
