Week 1 – The Road into Jerusalem Text: Luke 19:28–40 Topic(s): Passover, Triumphal Entry, Palm Sunday Big Idea of the Message: Jesus’s arrival in Jerusalem set the stage for his crucifixion and resurrection by declaring him Savior of both Israel and the world. Application Point: We must see in Jesus the rightful King of life and the Savior of all humanity.

Big Idea of the Series: The story of Jesus’s path to the cross is important for all people to consider—especially followers of Christ. This series, for use leading up to Easter, is framed around roads Jesus took en route to Calvary. Each road points to the essential purpose of Jesus’s journey and what we must learn from it in order to fully appreciate the significance of the cross and the resurrection.
